Mallory Park Oval V8 Day will be released in a couple of weeks, the V8Thunder League is scheduled to run a league races on it over the 3rd 4th and 5th of March, once they are completed the track will be released.
At the moment the track is complete but needs some tuning done to the AI in cup mode as they are a bit nuts, this will be done shortly but the main aim for the last 2 months has been to get the track completed in time, it took a lot longer than expected to get all the textures lined up, boy what a pain in the arse that was.
Here is part of the readme which will give you some tasters of what's in the track - did someone say there were rules about how tracks should be built? nope never got that memo....
Mallory Park Oval V8
This is my first attempt at building a track, so be nice :)
Mallory Park is located in Kirkby Mallory not far from Leicester, England. It is a 1.2 mile clockwise road course, originally built in 1955 by Clive Wormleighton, in 1957 a link road between The Esses and Devil's Elbow waa built to make a 1 Mile Oval. The Oval was rarely used past 1965 but in the 1990's the BRSCC's "Eurocar" series (something similar to present day ARCA) started and the V6 and V8 Eurocars ran the Oval Anti-Clockwise while the V6 Trucks and Legends ran Clockwise, races were also held for EuroFirst, Formula Ford, and Mini's but when Eurocars imploded the Oval was once again relagated to an unused track in favour of the full Clockwise road course.
This version of the track is the anti-clockwise layout, yep, you turn left like normal, but there's no outside wall to save you and a bloody great lake to get into on the inside ;)
This track uses hundreds of Textures, X-Sections, Walls and Geometry changes, as such it's a FPS Killer and might not work too good on anything less than a dual core machine with a decent graphics card. Most people find that switching off reflections will drastically improve the FPS.

[1] HOW TO INSTALL THE TRACK
====================================
Run the setup program, Mallory_Park_Oval_V8_RC1.exe which for most users will just be a matter of clicking next all the way through the setup. If you have multiple instances of NR2003S installed, Mallory_Park_Oval_V8_RC1.exe will NOT detect the directory structure and you should use the install directory to ensure the track is installed in the correct instances of NR2003.
[2] FEATURES
====================================
This track has been tuned for running all series but mostly aimed at running for the V8 Thunder online league, therefore CUP & GNS track conditions and tyre wear are challenging :) . The Ai runs ok but have some issues in CUP mod which will be addressed soon, in GNS and CTS mode the AI are tuned to run close to that of a V8Thunder league race pace at 100% if the AI ratings are around 85%+, lower than this and you'll probably need to increase the AI speed, but this will result in them crashing a lot, especially on the exit of turn 4.
To put it politely, this track is intended for online league use but does work with AI.
The track is bumpy and is modelled as closely to the real Mallory Park Oval from telemetry data and onboard video's as much as the Papyrus Sandbox track building software allowed, the track is modelled on the late 1990's layout used by Eurocar and does not include the hairpin or chicanes put in to slow the bikes down in 2000 ish, it does include the new buildings constructed in 2008 though (as they were easier to make and I'm lazy).
CAUTION LIGHTS:
There are none haha!, we don't have them in Europe, we have slightly mad people called Marshall's who stand in all weathers waving flags at drivers (who normally take no notice of them), so the track has this too, the only drawback is they will wave all flags at you, so when the starter waves the white flag, they all will, I suppose this could be useful, but you better make sure the guy on the start/finish line is waving a chequered flag at you before stopping at the end of the race.
We also have SC boards that these nice people's colleagues hold up when the track is under caution, so watch out for the SC boards too, if you're not listening to your spotter, then you'll know it's one to go because the guys with the SC boards will put them away but the flag guys will still be holding a yellow flag, that's if your not close enough to see the pace car lights - SC means Safety Car, some stupid name Max and Bernie came up with because they didn't want to be seen as copying the American way of doing things by calling it a Pace Car.
I may joke as I've been one but in all seriousness Marshall's do an outstanding job and without them Motor Racing would not exist, they don't get paid for this either, read more here: http://www.motorsportsafetyfund.com/
PIT ENTRY & EXIT:
Eurocar races never featured pit stops due to the short pitlane at Mallory, which ran from pit entry in game to the bridge, the track therefore has a Nascar style pitlane which can fit 43 cars at a push, it runs through where the old control tower buildings were in the 1990's so the new buildings might not be in exactly the right place.
Pit Entry:
The pit entry commit line is the double green cones on the exit of Turn 4, you must drive between these sets of cones when entering the pits or you will get a penalty.
The yellow line and orange cones marks the start of the pit lane speed limit.
Pit Exit:
The yellow line and orange cones marks the end of the pit lane speed limit.
The single green cones indicate the blend line, basically you can blend out onto the track immediately.
The Lakes:
The Lakes can be got into just like a few people have over the years.
Tyre Walls:
Tyre walls are fake, most of them are assiged as Armco, in full graphics mode the tyre walls are 3d models, in low and medium graphics the tyre walls are 2d textures.
Bumps:
Did I say the place is bumpy? Don't complain, get used to it cos all my tracks will be like this, snooker table smooth ice tracks are BS and not realistic, real tracks will shake loose fillings out your teeth and tear through tyres in a few laps. I like realistic tracks ;)
TOURING:
You can drive just about anywhere, but if you do decided to venture off on a little Touring Journey to try and find Leicester, stay driving in the direction of the track, if you drive against the flow of traffic the game will automatically black flag you.
[3] KNOWN ISSUES
====================================
AI are not working correctly in CUP mod, this will be fixed. AI do not give any quarter, if you're in their way they'll move you, and they make mistakes and run wide etc. this is normal.
If you get stuck in one of the lakes and are racing online, if the game does not do it automatically call the tow truck otherwise the race will likely never go back to green while you're stuck on the "apron".
Pit Entry and Exit Lights will be available in a couple of weeks for Track Builders, need to write some guides as to what goes where etc. sorry it's taken so long, family issues.
Some stuff I've been doing for the V8Thunder league recently...
Nope I'm not dead or been on another planet, just a tad busy at V8 Thunder, as you probably know I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to updating track graphics to be "up to date".
So in this thead I'll post my mipdates for the tracks this season, track graphics are controlled from the local machine (i.e. your machine) and it doesn't matter what is on the server, you only get mis-matches if you start playing with ini or ptf files, changing graphics has no effect on compatibility of online play, so if you wanted, you could drive on a bright pink track, if you're eyes could take it :)
These are all self-installers so all you have to do is click yes blah blah blah or point it to the right hard drive that the track is in.
You must have the original track installed before applying these updates

Adds V8T, Nationwide & Camping World Truck series logo's to billboards in Turn 3, and drops the apron to light grey from Talladega black:
Happy new year btw, yes the pitlights will be released shortly once I've finished a track I'm building for V8Thunder, there will be a set of lights in there that everybody can extract and use.
This is a video of the Whelen Pit Entry lights we've been working on:
These lights will be available shortly in Safer Barrier Project tracks and I will release an update patch for a section of tracks. An alternative, slightly different light will be made available to other track builders after, this is because the main mesh is property of Safer Barrier Project and so I will need to build one myself for other track builders to use.
Warwagon 2.5 available for download...
Updated Warwagon to roughly reflect the modern day ones with a roof lol
Larger tape area on pitroad for you to park in David!
Larger, lower signboard.
Team Camera
Extra Pitbox behind the Warwagon.
Laptops on the Warwagon and Extra Box.
The website is presently being rebuilt after some funny goings on this morning, so I am taking the opportunity to have a tidy up, at the moment some downloads are offline, but they will be back soon.
